Johnny has been a real estate broker since 1980. He began his career in Bennettsville, SC with CENTURY 21 Weaver Realty then moved to Pawleys Island in 1985 as Broker in Charge of CENTURY 21 Marshall & Grimes. He started JJ Weaver & Co., Inc in 1994 which is now CENTURY 21 At The Beach.

During his years at the beach, he has been involved with many facets of the real estate industry including residential, commercial/investment, second home, 1031 exchanges, rentals and development properties. He also teaches continuing education for Fortune Academy of Myrtle Beach. He planned and developed Egret Run condominiums on Hwy 17 in Pawleys Island and the Harborwalk Villas on the waterfront in downtown historic Georgetown. He is presently planning the development of The Villas at Olde Towne, upscale live/work townhouses 2 1/2 blocks from the ocean in downtown Myrtle Beach.

Johnny is a member and elder of the Georgetown Presbyterian Church. His civic activities include past president of Pawleys Island and Bennettsville Rotary Clubs, past president of Coastal Carolina Assoc of REALTORS® for Georgetown and Horry counties, past president of Georgetown Habitat for Humanity, past president Downtown Georgetown Business Assoc, and former councilman and Mayor of Bennettsville, SC. He is also a member of the Harbor Historical Society of Georgetown where he serves as dockmaster for the annual Wooden Boat Show held the 3rd weekend of October in Georgetown.

Johnny is married to the former Janette Jennings of Bennettsville. They have two grown children; Jan, a school teacher married to Ellis O’Tuel, the Financial Advisor for Edward Jones Investments and parents of twin sons Michael and Jacob of Bennettsville; and Jay of Pawleys Island, Captain of the Hattitude sport fishing boat out of Georgetown. Johnny is a Clemson man and a member of SAE fraternity.
